You have to keep in mind that societal norms in Japan can be different. Women are allowed to have crushes and platonic romances with their girlfriends while eventually ending up with a boyfriend.
Also, Bisexuality is totally a thing that exists and shouldn’t be erased in favor of the “gay or straight” rigid thinking.
