Taryn really *knows* when we get to that last panel. Taryn’s arc for several chapters now has been about her coming to grips with the fact that she wants something like what they have, she’s been seeing it this whole time.
I think we’re both picking up on how Taryn’s avoiding eye contact because she kissed Adam. I think it’s Taryn wanting what Adam represnts/ed in Cait’s life, not Adam himself.
I’ll admit the difference is pretty fine hair-splitting. And teenage hormones could drive Taryn over the line easily.
I think the more accurate word is ‘Envious’.
Jealousy implies Taryn HATES what Cait has, possibly wanting Adam for herself, where as envious is more she wants what the two have [had] because she does not have it.
