Martha: From Aramaic מַרְתָּא (marta’) meaning “the lady, the mistress”, feminine form of מַר (mar) “master” (Source behindthename.com)
Finch: diminutive version of the Anglo-Saxon pre 10th Century “Finc(ho)”, which literally translates as “the finch”, but specifically is a nickname of endearment meaning “little bright bird” (Source Surnamedb.com)
That.. actually doesn’t look to be that hard to live up to. She looks like she’s going to be a boss of some type.
“Finkle” sounds to me like she might be meaning “fickle”.
One of the possibilities for her identity that I haven’t seen advanced is one of the Three Furies – known in Greek as the Erinyes (“Angry Ones”) or the Eumenides (“Kindly Ones”). If so, it may or may not be relevant that their names are Tisiphone, Megaera, and Alecto (“Siphera” might be a mashup of the first two).
