Would we be expecting the most powerful of evil beings, to come from this comic plot, to also be sentient and cognitive, or mindless like the other beings? When you really think about it, you could argue that it goes either way.

Predictably, the monsters wouldn’t be bound to the same rules as the Olympian gods. These are the stereotypical dark forces, actually born from darkness and chaos, and grow in power the deeper they are in the darkness.

The trope’s pretty self-explanatory, considering everything.
