Not really if it was a white guy most of us would have assumed he was just curious who came through the door. It’s rather rare to find a minority girl crossing racial boundaries. Usually because her family and friends and everyone else is pissed at her about it.
And you won’t hear her saying: “Oh daddy, stop being such a bigot”
Much like the difference in the way the genders handle age difference in a couple, one way is alright but the other is a big no-no.

a trick: Artist could have put ANY color guy where the black guy was on the last page! we thought that it was him because he was the most front and center! (and because he was facing us)
