Although most Bigfoot sightings are in the Pacific Northwest (northern California up to Alaska) there are sightings all over the country. Texas, Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania also have a lot of sightings. Where I live in Oregon, you can often coax the mountainmen out of a tale or two of a “weird creature” or “skunk ape.” Some go as far as saying the S-word… Sasquatch. Of course they don’t report it. Who’d believe them? They say they know the smell and know to stay away. Taryn should take that advice.

We (KB and I) never really put New Athens anywhere specifically. In general it’s somewhere in the New England states northeastern corner of the U.S. near any geographic feature that’s needed in the plot.
